A 1992 graduate of Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Sherri A. Evans has acquired a reputation as a dynamic litigator with a special expertise in complex property cases. Sherri holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas in Austin and worked as a financial analyst prior to entering law school. She is also a member of the faculty for the American Bar Association’s Family Law Trial Institute.
A native of Kingwood, Texas, Sherri joined the law firm of Jenkin & Kamin in 1996, where she has been a priceless addition to the team. She is board certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the Supreme Court of Texas. She has also been named a "Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly Magazine.
Sherri is a member and active participant in a number of professional organizations which enhance her knowledge of current trends and changing laws in the area of family law. Currently, Sherri serves on the State Bar of Texas’ Family Law Council and Texas Family Law Foundation where she worked closely with the Texas legislature on significant family law issues in Texas. She is a fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and former President of the Board for the Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists. Sherri is also a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the American Bar Association Family Law Section, the Houston Bar Association Family Law Section, the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law Inn of Court and the College of the State Bar of Texas.
The author of numerous articles and a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars, Sherri has addressed a diverse array of issues from the establishment of child support to the taxation of stock options. She has also served as Course Director for the State Bar of Texas' Advanced Family Law Seminar and the University of Texas' Family Law on the Front Lines. She has also been a member of the faculty for the American Bar Association's Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute.
