In addition to our expertise in the area of estate and guardianship administration, we are also well qualified to provide estate planning services to our clients – from simple wills to complex tax planning documents, including many different types of trusts, agreements in contemplation of marriage, powers of attorney, medical powers of attorney, and directives to physicians (“living wills”). Horrigan & Goehrs, L.L.P. was founded on January 1, 1987, by Joseph S. Horrigan as Joseph S. Horrigan & Associates. The firm’s first associate, Linda C. Goehrs, quickly became a partner, and the firm was re-named Horrigan & Goehrs, L.L.P. on January 1, 1989. Since its creation, Joe and Linda have become well known to lawyers across the state as a result of their involvement with many high profile probate disputes and through the many speeches and articles they have presented to groups of attorneys at legal seminars. While their practice areas actually overlap, Joe is best known state-wide for being a probate litigator, whereas Linda is widely regarded as one of the top attorneys in Texas in matters related to guardianships. Douglas A. Edwards joined the firm in 2000 as an estate planning associate, and became a partner on July 1, 2006. In addition to counseling clients regarding their estate planning needs, drafting estate planning documents and preparing Estate Tax Returns, Doug is frequently involved in analyzing the documents and financial aspects of the firm’s litigation cases, and in drafting settlements of disputed cases.
